The Field returns with his first solo release in eight years — and Now You Exist feels like a record that could only have been made by someone who has spent that time listening rather than rushing. Landing on Studio Barnhus as BARN128, the five-track EP revisits the sonic architecture of From Here We Go Sublime while allowing the structures a new looseness, a willingness to breathe that feels entirely in keeping with the label that is releasing it.
The A-side moves on meditative chords, loops that don't merely cycle but gather weight — In Our Dreams and 333 706 building a slow elation out of harmonies stretched almost to their limit. The B-side tilts the frame. Another Day folds a tender vocal presence into The Field's glittering matrix without dissolving what makes it his, and Now You Exist closes the record with the kind of restrained euphoria that has always been his signature. This is music that never insists — it simply draws you in and keeps you there.
