Efdemin and Vril. revisit Endless / Purge — originally released in 2021 as the sole release on the short-lived Sun Sad imprint, launched by Kinzua's Lucas Brell — returning five years later on Confusion Is Next To Happiness in a revised and expanded edition. The original recordings have been newly mixed and remastered by Rashad Becker, and the package is complemented by a previously unreleased Vril. reinterpretation of Endless. A record that deserved a longer life, now given one.
Throughout, arpeggiated sequences drift through layers of finely textured dub haze, balancing physical momentum with a floating sense of weightlessness. Both producers' unmistakable sonic signatures remain fully intact while the record subtly channels the melancholic futurism and machine-driven pulse of techno's Motor City tradition. Endless is built around an endlessly progressing organ pattern, combining classic Efdemin grooves with shimmering waves of beauty. Purge offers something altogether more interior — described by Vril. as "an experience of a self-cleaning process in different phases", a track that moves through its own internal logic with the patience and precision both producers have always made their own. Four versions, two visions, one essential record.
