The Hermaphrodite EP arrives on Pro-Jex in 1998 with four tracks of raw UK techno that carry a conceptual darkness in both theme and title, the biological body horror of Umbilical Cord, Afterbirth, Birth Defect and Gangrene mapping directly onto the music's own visceral, uncompromising energy.
Four tracks built with the direct, functional conviction of producers who had something specific to say and said it without hesitation. The kind of record that arrives with no fanfare, does exactly what it needs to do, and disappears — leaving behind only the music and the question of why there was never a second release.
