The only repress this record will ever receive — and limited copies at that. Four tracks of minimal house from Zurich-based duo The Mountain People, who have been supporting the minimal and tech house scene since 2006 with the same stripped-back, skeletal approach that has always defined their work. Mastered and lacquer-cut by Andreas Kauffelt at Schnittstelle in Berlin, the tracks balance understated, deceptive simplicity with microscopic structural shifts.
The Mountain People’s signature is immediately present: deep-rolling sub-basslines, loop-driven experimentation and a meticulous attention to the small details that accumulate slowly into something considerably greater than the sum of their parts. The Pleasures All Mine and Loop Of Life open the A-side with the unhurried, skeletal precision that defines the record throughout before Attendre Mon Coeur and House Unhinged carry the flip with equal focus and conviction. Two decades into a career built on exactly this kind of thoughtful, functional minimalism — and still as assured as ever. Move quickly, this one won’t come around again.
