Surface Access have moved quickly. Debuting in 2025 with Advanced Surface Habitat — a pair of late-night dub techno burners that announced them as one of the more vivid new voices in the genre — before following with Transfer on Nicolas Jaar's Other People imprint earlier this year, the Parisian duo now arrive on 59BEL with their third release in as many years, and the trajectory remains unmistakably upward.

Where Transfer demonstrated Surface Access at their most kinetic and dancefloor-focused, this new EP draws the focus inward. The duo's signature floating soundscapes and deep, psychedelic dub textures are present throughout, but shaped here by a stricter minimalism and a patience that allows the music to breathe and accumulate weight over time. Depth is the governing principle — layers of carefully placed reverb, submerged low-end and slowly morphing harmonic detail constructing an immersive environment that rewards close listening as readily as it rewards the dancefloor. A measured and assured step forward from a duo who, at this pace, are building something genuinely significant.
