Sa Pa launches Dub Techno For Life with a statement of intent — a new imprint dedicated to the dancefloor-focused material that has long sat outside the conceptual frame of his previous releases, and a debut EP that draws on over a decade of shelved tracks, abandoned patches and borrowed machines to announce it properly. Girls on Tour is the sound of an artist clearing the archive and finding, in the process, that what was left behind was often too good to leave there.
Mokira Ultra Dub opens proceedings — a 10-minute club rework of Mokira's Manipulation Musik, originally produced alongside an ambient version for Kontra Musik's 2016 Kontra X compilation before the dancefloor mix was shelved. Released now with Andreas Tilliander's blessing, it is exactly as described: too banging to go unreleased. Waiting For You follows with a buoyancy and disarming pop sensibility unusual for Sa Pa, its roots in the giegling ecosystem via FORUM and the collective memory of mid-2010s German house music sitting just beneath the surface.
The B-side shifts register entirely — Modular System capturing a late-night one-take modular jam in Taipei, harnessing the spirit of Chain Reaction from raw materials and a rainy night's recording session, before World Saving Banger closes with IDM-leaning force and broken, hopeful energy. Neo dub techno ideals, fully realised.
