Following their self-titled triple vinyl debut (Best Album of 2024), French production duo Rue des Garderies return with Jiddu - a limited edition, single-sided 12-inch single.
Blurring the lines between low-slung trip-hop and abstract 90s electronics, Jiddu unfolds as a semi-narcotic, 12-minute live improvisation. A stretched and distorted sample anchors the piece, weaving through ambient textures captured on a warm summer night.
The recording interacts fluidly with its surroundings - truncated conversations, bursts of laughter, silences, joy, love - as if tapping into a subconscious, liminal zone of perception. The B-side features an etched illustration by French artist Rebecca Bournigault.
