Khotin's first full-length on Ghostly International arrives on limited transparent purple vinyl for 2023 — a reissue of an album that captures the Edmonton producer at his most playfully complex, navigating the tension between irony and sincerity with the kind of light touch that makes both feel entirely genuine. Finds You Well is warmer and more rhythmically adventurous than the purely introspective Beautiful You, the undulating organ chords, chunky breakbeats and twinkling melodic lines carrying a gentle lilt that sits somewhere between the Mood Hut and Pacific Rhythm catalogues and something slightly more unhinged.
The album moves between beatless ambient collages and rolling rhythmic tracks with a pacing that makes each feel as gripping as the other. Heavy Ball and Groove 32 are the album's floor-adjacent highlights — indebted to the 1990s chill-out room but alive with a contemporary looseness, the bongos and ear-worm bassline of the latter sitting alongside the kind of emotionally gripping melancholy Khotin seems to produce effortlessly.
