A true cornerstone of the Kompakt catalogue, Jürgen Paape’s Triumph was the label’s very first release back in 1999 - and remains one of its most defining moments. Blending crisp, sample-heavy minimalism with a driving, hypnotic pulse, Triumph helped shape the sound of Cologne’s late-’90s electronic underground and foreshadowed the aesthetic that would come to define Kompakt in the new millennium.

Originally conceived as a spiritual successor to Paape’s underground classic Reval on Profan, Triumph refined the formula into a streamlined, floor-focused statement without losing its experimental edge.
