The debut release on fovea specs is an album from Hoavi — already a familiar name across Peak Oil, Quiet Time, Balmat, GOST ZVUK and Fauxpas Musik. 711Falx is his second album of 2026, following Architectonics on Los Angeles-based Peak Oil, and it gathers recordings made between 2022 and 2026 into eight tracks that blend intuitive ambient with widely spatial soundscapes and clicks-and-cuts music pieces in the tradition of Force Inc. and Mille Plateaux.
Amid sci-fi pads and IDM structures, the record draws rhythmic patterns from unexpected places — Shore on the B-side derives its pulse from two-step, while Columns with its vocal chops and breaks sits somewhere that might be described as leftfield footwork. Penrose follows the intro like futuristic onboarding, moving from abstract drone to more expressive and complex terrain before fading at the edges. Closing track zyx builds glitch music with the layered complexity of an indie game soundtrack while remaining deeply touching and dreamy throughout. Spatial, intuitive and quietly absorbing — the first release on fovea specs announces a label with a clear and distinctive ear.
