Gafael (Matthew Ridgway) presents Syren, a deeply immersive cassette album built from field recordings captured along the coastlines of North Wales. Waves, streams and shifting water textures are transformed into hazy, evolving chords — forming a tactile, oceanic sound world rooted as much in place as in emotion.
Split into two movements, Submerge draws listeners into dark, engulfing depths, where ambient and dub techno sensibilities dissolve into fluid, field-recorded abstraction. On the flip, Emerge traces a gradual return to shore — lighter, reflective passages shaped by memory, identity and landscape.
