Originally released in 2001 by Mego, "Endless Summer" was a breakthrough album for Austrian electronic musician Christian Fennesz, blending digital processing with warm, melodic textures. Taking inspiration from the sun-drenched nostalgia of 1960s pop, particularly The Beach Boys, but deconstructs those influences into a fragmented, glitch-heavy yet deeply emotional soundscape.

Unlike the colder, more abstract tones of Fennesz’s earlier works (Hotel Paral.lel, Plus Forty Seven Degrees 56' 37" Minus Sixteen Degrees 51' 08"), Endless Summer introduces a more accessible and melodic approach, though still filtered through layers of distortion and digital noise. The album uses heavily processed guitar as its primary sound source, with tracks shimmering in waves of static, reverb, and granular synthesis.
