Khotin -Pace Portal

‘Peace Portal’ is Khotin at his best, as he leans into and slyly comments on our cultural fixation on nostalgia. The inviting nature of Khotin’s productions shine as always, gently making its case as one of the year’s essential releases.

The EP is noted for its deep, immersive soundscapes and intricate rhythms. Resident Advisor highlighted the balance between "easygoing bliss and tunnelling psychedelia," with tracks like "Spacetime" featuring dynamic basslines, and "Gravitation" offering melancholic synths offset by a thumping bassline and cosmic pads. The title track, "Dark Matter," is described as a subaquatic minimal tune, while "Causality" incorporates squelchy percussion and choral vocals.
