Hot on the heels of his debut release, 11:68PM returns to Craft Services with a five-track EP that steps back rather than forward — not a progression from CRAFT001 but an excavation of the tools and influences from which it was developed. A little more stripped back and raw, CRAFT002 is a collection of functional sounds built for blending on the dancefloor, with enough attention to detail to stand on their own two feet on any soundsystem with a little heft behind it.
Make Me opens and encapsulates the concept immediately — swinging synth chords trailing colourful reverb before a simple breakbeat and precise kick impose a steady, swinging rhythm. After a kickless break the percs return with a skipping, almost UKG-adjacent feel alongside deep, dubby subs in place of the rolling bass you might expect. Minimal house with plenty of meat on the bones. Don't Hold Back, Deep SN, User Experience and NU Bounce continue along the same functional, carefully considered path — each one a distinct angle on the same raw, dancefloor-focused sensibility. A producer who knows exactly what he is doing and why.
