Filmed live and direct from Inverted Audio Record Store in Peckham, Store Selects returns with a fresh selection of EPs, LPs, CDs and tapes that have just landed in the shop.
Episode 003 dives into a wide spectrum of underground electronics, spanning minimal techno, dubbed-out house, experimental club tracks and immersive ambient recordings. This week’s picks feature releases from Paperclip Minimiser, P Relief, C3D-E, Flørist, Priori, Tammo Hesselink, Gafael and Partial Defrag.
PAPERCLIP MINIMISER - II [PEAK OIL]
Paperclip Minimiser is the cyberpunk minimal techno project of Manchester producer John Howes. On II, his second transmission under the alias, Howes pushes further into the icy aesthetics of early-2000s digital futurism, delivering stripped-back, machine-driven tracks with a cold, synthetic edge.
P RELIEF - FLUFF [P&D]
P Relief returns with Fluff, a three-track release drifting between house, techno and IDM. Loose yet detailed, the EP balances rhythmic functionality with playful, off-centre textures.
C3D-E - THE PERFECT MEMORY [MIDI_BUG]
Acting Press co-founder C3D-E explores the outer edges of house and techno on The Perfect Memory. Across four tracks, fractured rhythms, raw drum programming and experimental textures combine into trippy, sleazy, pumping club cuts with a distinctly ’90s axis.
FLØRIST - P12_04 [PAVILION]
The fourth instalment in the Pavilion series brings together Vancouver producers Flørist and Jay Tripwire for the first time on wax. p12_04 delivers three extended cuts drifting between minimal techno and deep house, built with DJs firmly in mind.
DEPARTMENT - DEPARTMENT [INDEX:RECORDS]
INDEX:Records alum vase (aka Downstairs People; games) joins forces with label head Conna Haraway as department, delivering a two-track release that blurs the lines between ambient, deep techno and leftfield electronics.
VARIOUS ARTISTS - ALT DUB ARTIST SERIES 02 [ALT DUB]
Artist Series 002 marks the next step in Alt Dub’s steady expansion, bringing together four producers interpreting the label’s warm, spacious dub aesthetic through their own distinct lens. Founded by Federsen in 2024, the imprint continues to refine a sound rooted in analogue warmth, submerged rhythms and meticulous sound design, building a catalogue of deeply considered dub techno.
PRIORI - 9 [KYNANT RECORDS]
Priori returns to Berlin’s Kynant Records with a four-track EP of dubbed-out, eyes-down house and techno. Built around dense low-end pressure and hypnotic groove science, the Montreal-based producer delivers functional club tools rich in texture and atmosphere.
TAMMO HESSELINK - LIVE AT ORMSIDE PROJECTS [BLANK MIND] (CASSETTE)
Blank Mind capture a special moment from the dancefloor with Live At Ormside Projects, recorded during the label’s showcase in South London on 15 November 2025. A raw and immediate document of Hesselink’s live set.
GAFAEL - SYREN [ENMOSSED] (CASSETTE)
Gafael (Matthew Ridgway) presents Syren, a deeply immersive cassette album built from field recordings captured along the North Wales coastline. Waves, streams and shifting water textures are transformed into hazy, evolving chords, creating a tactile and oceanic sound world.
PARTIAL DEFRAG - MEMORY RECOIL [STRATA] (CD)
Partial Defrag returns to STRATA with Memory Recoil, a haunting and highly tactile release exploring fractured digital memory and emotional sound design. Shifting from swirling textures toward fragile piano motifs, glitching artefacts and recombined data fragments, the EP feels both mechanical and deeply human.
