In early 2025, Oakland-based producer Jerod S. Rivera released his second full-length Dot-Dash - a striking body of work featuring a standout collaboration with CST co-founder Cat Lauigan and Jonathan James Carr. From the first listen, the result felt magnetic: Cat’s processed spoken-word floating through Jerod’s intricate Buchla experiments, equal parts intimate, uncanny and futuristic.

The tracks immediately invited reinterpretation, so the idea of a remix record came naturally. The result is a perfectly curated remix 12", pulling in friends from across different scenes and geographies to create a release that feels genuinely multi-functional - something for every setting, from dancefloor to deep listening.

The elusive False Aralia (dub/techno/leftfield shapeshifter) takes the material into sharper, more dancefloor-ready territory — a maximal, Perlon-leaning swing that still keeps a half-time dub pulse at its core. Philipp Otterbach (Music from Memory, Offen, RIO) moves in the opposite direction, diving into guitar-driven heaviness with a drone-laced rework channeling the gravity of Earth 2-era Sunn O))) and Boris.

Oakland duo DJ ML & Wonja, under their Motoko & Myers alias (Future Times, Soda Gong), deliver a beautifully tactile version built around live drum breaks, bassline pressure and choice vocal fragments — an eerily authentic slice of ‘90s UK studio futurism. Rounding it out, Slowfoam pushes the experimental edge, starting minimal and spacious before building into a glitchy, rhythmic climax.

The 12" comes with a two-sided riso insert plus a download code featuring an additional remix from close collaborator Jon Carr, twisting the vocals into a throbbing industrial cacophony.
