Inverted Audio Record Store is a specialist electronic music shop in London, offering a carefully curated selection of new and used vinyl, cassettes and clothing.
The store is run by Tom Durston (DJ Antepop) - founder and editor-in-chief of Inverted Audio - with over 17 years of experience documenting and engaging with underground electronic music.
Every record stocked reflects this long-standing involvement in the scene, shaped by years of interviews, reviews, DJing and direct relationships with artists and labels.
In 2024, Inverted Audio Record Store was recognised by Time Out as one of the “Best of the City”, highlighting its contribution to London’s independent music culture.
Curated with Intent
Located in Peckham’s Holdrons Arcade, the shop focuses on records that sit at the intersection of house, techno, dubbed-out grooves, experimental, avant-garde and esoteric ambience.
The selection includes releases from a network of independent and influential record labels, including: Acting Press, Astral Industries, Basic Channel, Dial, Echospace Detroit, Enmossed, Field Records, Ilian Tape, Kompakt, Mood Hut, Motion Ward, Ostgut Ton, Peak Oil, RVNG Intl, Scissor & Thread, Short Span, Smallville Records, Warp and Workshop.
This results in a tightly edited catalogue aimed at collectors and listeners seeking depth rather than volume. Quantities are often limited, with a focus on small runs and hard-to-find releases.
If you'd like us to stock your releases, please get in touch via email.
Beyond Retail
In addition to the store, Tom Durston continues to run Inverted Audio as an independent platform for electronic music - publishing interviews, reviews and mixes, while also organising events including record fairs and festival programming.
The record store extends this work into a physical space for discovery, conversation and community.
